The top photo was of different object found around me room, while the bottom one was a screenshot the game "Batman: Arkham City" I took while my father was playing.

The timing I used for these shots varied from first exposure to second, which caused a difference in value and made for an interesting glowing effect around the borders of the objects ion the photos.

I would use Solarization if I wanted an image to have a magical or menacing effect. It makes for attention-capturing detail with a slight mystical appearance.
